This statement is to inform you about aspects of data protection legislation as well as about measures we have taken to protect your rights. Hermes Technologie Limited (hereinafter referred to as ‘we’, ‘us’) complies with the requirements of federal data protection law (BDSG) and EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Collection and use of personal data

1.1. Basic principle

Your data is used solely to enable us to offer you as user-friendly, practical and safe internet service as possible. Personal data include all information about personal or factual details relating to a specific or identifiable natural person, e.g. name, address, contact details, IP addresses, data transmitted etc.

1.2.  Legal bases

a) When providing products and services on this website: initiation or fulfilment of contracts

b) Inquiries made to us by post, e-mail or fax: initiation or fulfilment of contracts

c) Links to other offers or website access evaluation: legitimate interest

1.3.  Automatic processing by website operator

The websites are operated by a provider in Germany which, for its part, logs access to the system in so-called server logs for the purpose of website management. In so doing, the following data are normally collected: IP-addresses, web access timestamps, website names, quantities of data transmitted, logins or logouts, browser types, operating system information, referrer URLs. We do not store or evaluate this data. Should there be a justified suspicion of misuse based on concrete information, these log files can be examined retrospectively.

1.4. Data input by the website user

You may, moreover, have unlimited use of our websites without inputting any personal data. In so far as we collect personal data (contact details, booking forms, newsletter requests, forums, blog entries etc.) we will always state the reason, the extent, the legal basis and any possible disclosure and we will only use this data for these purposes. Your inputting of such data is voluntary.

2. Use of data

2.1. We use the personal data that we collect and process solely for the purpose of providing services that you, as user, have agreed with us, and for processing payments.  In so doing we naturally observe all applicable data protection regulations, in particular federal data protection law / EU- GDPR and telecommunications DPR.

2.2.  We do not pass on your personal data to third parties for marketing or similar purposes. Data is only passed on if and to the extent to which this is essential for the implementation of the user agreement, we are legally obliged to do so, or it should be necessary for ensuring the general conditions of use or other agreements that we may have made with you, as well as asserting our own rights and claims.

2.3. Client information by e-mail

We send up-to-date information to our loyal customers in order to let you know about innovations and changes in our services. This information is in addition to our general newsletters. In so far as it concerns our services and may contain safety-related points or important information about Hermes Technologie, we can only handle it by e-mail. We hope you understand.

2.4. Newsletter

If you have opted to receive our newsletter, we use the e-mail address with which you registered with us in order to give you the latest news. We use the name and the address you supplied so that we can contact you personally and to minimise the risk of it going to spam. Information is sent out to these email addresses at regular intervals. If you no longer wish to receive this sort of information by e-mail, you can unsubscribe at any time. Just drop us a line to let us know. You will find instructions on how to do this at the bottom of every newsletter.

3. Cookies

Our website uses cookies so that we can give you an effective, user-friendly service. We believe this ambition justifies our use of cookies. Most browsers allow you to see that cookies are being used.

However, if you generally wish to prevent the use of cookies, your browser will have the facility to stop new cookies being accepted and stored. To find out how this works on your browser, just use the Help button on your browser. Still, we recommend that you leave cookies turned on, since that is the best way to ensure you get the most out the extremely convenient service we have designed. We do not build up a personal user profile from the data we collect through cookies.

4. Website analysis or tools

These are the analytical tools that we use to e valuate our websites:

Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service provided by Google Inc.  Google Analytics uses so-called cookies, text files that are stored on your computer and enable us to analyse your use of the website. The information that the cookie gathers about your use of the site is normally sent to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The IP address that Google Analytics gathers from your browser is not combined with other data Google has.  Moreover, for our website we have instructed Google Analytics to apply the “anonymize IP” code. This guarantees that your IP address is disguised, so that all data is collected anonymously. It is very rare for a full IP address to be passed on to a Google server in the USA, and there it is shortened.

Google uses this information on behalf of the operator of this website in order to evaluate your use of the website, to report on website activity and to provide the website operator with other services related to website traffic and internet use. You can prevent cookies being stored by using the relevant setting in your browser’s software, but we would point out that in that case you might not be able to make full use of all the functionality of this website.

You can prevent Google collecting data generated by cookie and relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and making use of it, by downloading and installing  the browser plug-in via this link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl  . As an alternative to the browser opt-out add-on, in particular for browsers on mobile devices, you can prevent data collection by Google Analytics by clicking on that link. This sets a cookie opt-out that prevents any future collection of your data when visiting this website. The cookie opt-out is placed on your computer, but only works for this browser and only for our website. If you disable cookies on this browser, you will have to set the cookie opt-out again.

We also use Google Analytics to evaluate data from Doubleclick cookies and AdWords for statistical purposes. If you do not want us to do that, you can deactivate this using the ads preferences manager (http://www.google.com/settingsd/ads/onweb/ ). If you wish to object to this data collection, you can install a plug-in using the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl

Google Maps

These internet sites contain plug-ins for Google Maps, a service of Google Inc, San Bruno, California, USA. If you visit content on our websites that includes a map provided by Google Maps, a connection is established to a Google server. This tells the Google server which of our website pages you visited.  If you are logged on to your Google account at the time, Google is able to link your surfing activity to your personal profile. You can deactivate this function by first logging out of your Google account. You can obtain more information about Google’s collection and use of your data at the notes on data protection at http://google.de/maps/

5. Security

We put in place technical and organisational security measures in order to guarantee that your personal data are protected from loss, incorrect changes or unauthorized access by third parties. Only authorized personnel ever have access to personal data, and only in so far as that is essential for the purposes listed above.  The security measures are constantly adapted in the light of technical progress.
