MSK liquid bitumen |
Description
MSK liquid asphalt is an emulsion-based asphalt mix, i.e. an emulsifier turns the latex binding agent into an emulsion so that it can then be worked cold.
The emulsion, being substantially responsible for the reaction in the mix and hence for its workability, is specifically designed for the job in this case, working by hand. It is best to use it on asphalt surfaces and should be worked at a temperature of between +8° C and +30° C. Once it has cured, MSK liquid asphalt is the equivalent of any of the customary asphalts.
Specifications:
MSK liquid asphalt component “A” special bitumen emulsion with 65% polymers. It is modified to take account of the minerals involved and the working (air) temperature.
MSK liquid asphalt component “B”. Consists of graded gravel, grit or quartz sand and a special filler, combined as a dry material. It is important to note that the materials are selected according to German building ministry guide-lines.
In order for you to get reliable, steady quality, the minerals are dried separately then combined after the prescribed grading process.
For mixing, precise quantities of water (preferably drinking water) are required. A certain amount of cement is included in the delivery, since it is usually needed when mixing to speed up the spontaneous reaction. Where the temperature is higher, the cement can be dispensed with, and the proportion of water somewhat greater.
Storage and transport.
Component “A” can be damaged by frost and is subject to a use-by date. The packing date or the use-by date is indicated only on the box. It follows that if just a few tubs are issued without the outer cardboard box, the product should be used within a short time. When claiming with regard to lumps or other problems, please first check the date.
Mineral component “B” is heat sealed in foil-lined bags and packed in foil on the pallet, but should not be transported in an open truck or stacked in the open air.
PS:
Since autumn 1999 a coloured range MSK liquid asphalt “COLOR” has been available. Only red is kept in stock, but green, grey and yellow can be delivered on request. |
